Brand managers oversee the development of brand strategy for an organization. Their duty is to come up with marketing strategies for a brand.  Brand managers work under the marketing department and are responsible for marketing specifically the brands of a company. brand managers are there to make sure that customers have a positive association with a certain brand of an organization. Additionally, Brand managers are also in charge of increasing brand awareness and the total brand equity of a company. Brand managers are responsible for making sure that a company`s brand is positioned at the forefront of a customer`s mind.

Furthermore, brand managers have the task to increase the brand visibility of a company. They work with a marketing team to develop numerous marketing campaigns for a brand. Their duty is to communicate the message of a brand to consumers. The overall goal of a brand manager is to create a positive brand image for a company. Successful brand managers are creative, assertive and have the ability to adapt to changes quickly. For a person to be a brand manager normally a degree in marketing is required. A brand manager has an estimated average salary of R455,442 per year in South Africa.

Duties of a Brand manager

  • Create and manage brand communication strategies through numerous forms of media

Qualifications and requirements  

For one to be a brand manager a degree in marketing or equivalent is required, and previous experience in the field of marketing or management is a priority to get the position. Brand managers must be creative thinkers and good problem solvers
